For the past five years, this collaboration has been providing care, attention, and opportunities for the children’s development.

В церемонии приняли участие администрация и педагогический состав школы, учащиеся, представители Русского дома в Нью-Дели, Посольства Российской Федерации в Республике Индия и общественных организаций.

Инициатива создания Стены российско-индийской дружбы была представлена председателем Индийской ассоциации российских соотечественников Еленой Барман. Новый культурно-просветительский проект призван способствовать развитию интереса молодого поколения к российской культуре, литературе и традициям.

В рамках мероприятия Елена Барман передала школе в дар фотографии памятников выдающимся русским писателям Александру Пушкину и Льву Толстому, установленных в Нью-Дели. Портреты займут почётное место в школе и станут дополнительным стимулом для знакомства учащихся с российским культурным наследием.

К открытию Стены российско-индийской дружбы была приурочена насыщенная культурная программа, центральным событием которой стал танцевальный конкурс с участием представителей шестнадцати школ. Яркие творческие выступления придали празднику особую атмосферу и сделали его красочным и запоминающимся.

Событие стало ещё одним важным шагом в укреплении российско-индийских гуманитарных связей и развитии двустороннего сотрудничества в сфере образования. В перспективе планируется дальнейшее расширение партнёрства, продвижение русского языка и культуры, а также реализация совместных образовательных и культурно-просветительских инициатив.

Wall of Russian-Indian Friendship Was Unveiled at Goenka School in Ghaziabad

The ceremony was attended by members of the school administration and teaching staff, students, representatives of the Russian House in New Delhi, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India, and public organisations.

The initiative to establish the Wall of Russian-Indian Friendship was presented by Elena Barman, Chairperson of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots. The new cultural and educational project is intended to foster interest among the younger generation in Russian culture, literature, and traditions.

As part of the event, Elena Barman presented the school with photographs of monuments to the outstanding Russian writers Alexander Pushkin and Leo Tolstoy located in New Delhi. The photographs will occupy a place of honour at the school and encourage students to learn more about Russia’s cultural heritage.

The unveiling of the Wall of Russian-Indian Friendship was accompanied by an extensive cultural programme, the highlight of which was a dance competition with participants from sixteen schools. The vibrant performances created a special festive atmosphere and made the event colourful and memorable.

The event marked another important step towards strengthening Russian-Indian humanitarian ties and developing bilateral cooperation in the field of education. Further expansion of the partnership is planned, including the promotion of the Russian language and culture, as well as the implementation of joint educational, cultural, and outreach initiatives.

The Russian House in New Delhi hosted the grand opening of an exhibition dedicated to International Children's Day. The exhibition featured children's artwork, including a special highlight, drawings by young students from the School of Arts at the Russian House in New Delhi.

As part of the program, activists from the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots presented a fascinating presentation on Russian folklore and traditional musical instruments, and also gave an educational lecture on Khokhloma painting. The event continued with an interactive painting workshop, where young artists were able to showcase their creative talents.

The program concluded with a screening of the film "A Dog Named Palma 2"—a touching story of loyalty and friendship, in which the dog Palma once again finds herself at the center of events, helping people overcome difficulties and find each other.

Продолжением мероприятия стал интерактивный мастер-класс по живописи, где юные художники смогли проявить свои творческие способности.
В завершение программы гостям был показан фильм «Пальма 2» — трогательная история о верности и дружбе, в которой собака Пальма снова оказывается в центре событий, помогая людям преодолевать трудности и находить друг друга.

On the 1st of June, on the occasion of International Children’s Day, members of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, with support of the Russian House in New Delhi organized a visit for orphaned children from Malasmiriti.

This meaningful initiative reflects their long-term dedication to supporting these children and improving their lives. For the past five years, this collaboration has been providing care, attention, and opportunities for the children’s development.

Together, we organized a creative workshop inspired by traditional Russian Khokhloma design, where the children explored art and culture in an engaging and joyful way.

We spent a wonderful day together — creating, talking about Russia, sharing stories, and enjoyed lunch with lots ice cream. Of course, the children especially enjoyed the lunch, along with lots and lots of ice cream. Children also received beautiful gifts, which made the day even more special.

It was truly a heartfelt celebration dedicated to children. As the day came to an end, the children left the Russian House happy, cheerful, and full of bright emotions.

It is especially touching to see how much the children have grown over these five years. We can clearly see their progress, their development, and their enthusiasm for learning. We are proud to offer even a small contribution to support these little angels and to share with them the beauty of our culture and our country.

We hope that as they grow up, they will carry these warm memories in their hearts and become true friends of Russia.

Заместитель председателя Муниципального совета Нью-Дели Шри Кульджит Сингх Чахал возглавил акцию «Сад памяти» в Индии. Это очень почётно и символично — как рукопожатие двух стран, двух великих держав, которые поддерживают друг друга, знают истинную цену мира и бережно хранят память о героях прошлого.

Акция была проведена в одном из самых известных и живописных мест столицы — Джавахарлал Неру Парк, расположенном в самом сердце Нью-Дели. Это место само по себе несёт особый смысл: парк, названный в честь первого премьер-министра Индии, стал достойной площадкой для акции, посвящённой памяти и единству.

Акция была организована Активом Индийской Ассоциации Российских Соотечественников (ИАРС) совместно с сотрудниками Русского дома в Индии и при поддержке Муниципального Совета Нью-Дели. Совместное проведение мероприятия стало ярким примером того, как культурная дипломатия воплощается в реальных, живых делах — не на словах, а в действии.

В мероприятии приняли участие соотечественники, проживающие в Индии, а также все те, для кого память о прошлом — не формальность, а часть сердца. Участники возложили цветы и саженцы деревьев как символ живой, непрерывающейся нити между поколениями.

Такие инициативы ещё раз доказывают, насколько важно сохранять историческую правду, передавать её будущим поколениям и объединяться ради мира, взаимопонимания и созидательного будущего для всего человечества. Пока мы помним — мы вместе.

Даже вдали от Родины мы не забываем, откуда мы родом — её история живёт в нас, куда бы ни забросила судьба. Расстояние измеряется километрами, но не памятью.

Deputy Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council, Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, led the “Garden of Memory” campaign in India. This is a great honor and a deeply symbolic gesture — like a handshake between two nations, two great powers that support one another, understand the true value of peace, and carefully preserve the memory of the heroes of the past. The event took place in one of the most famous and picturesque locations of the capital — Jawaharlal Nehru Park, situated in the heart of New Delhi. This place carries special meaning in itself: the park, named after India’s first Prime Minister, became a достойной venue for an initiative dedicated to remembrance and unity.

The campaign was organized by the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC) together with the staff of the Russian House in India, with the support of the New Delhi Municipal Council. The joint organization of this event became a vivid example of how cultural diplomacy is realized through real, meaningful actions — not just in words, but in deeds.

The event brought together compatriots living in India, as well as all those for whom the memory of the past is not a formality, but a matter of the heart. Participants laid flowers and planted saplings as a symbol of the living, unbroken connection between generations.

Such initiatives once again demonstrate how important it is to preserve historical truth, pass it on to future generations, and unite for the sake of peace, mutual understanding, and a constructive future for all humanity. As long as we remember — we are united.

Even far from our homeland, we do not forget where we come from — its history lives within us, no matter where life takes us. Distance is measured in kilometers, but not in memory.

4 мая на территории кампуса школы «Санта-Мария» гости из Русского Дома и Актив ИАРС (Индийской Ассоциации Российских Соотечественников) провели акцию «Георгиевская ленточка», а также высадили деревья в рамках проекта «Сад памяти».

Мероприятие было организовано для учащихся 3–5 классов. Для ребят прошла познавательная историческая беседа и лекция, в ходе которой они узнали о происхождении Георгиевской ленточки, её значении, а также о проекте «Сад памяти», в рамках которого высаживается одно дерево в честь каждого погибшего солдата.

Было посажено 10 деревьев. Учащиеся с большим интересом и энтузиазмом приняли участие в посадке, проявили инициативу и искреннюю вовлечённость в происходящее. Каждый из них взял на себя персональную ответственность за уход за посаженными деревьями — теперь это их собственный живой памятник, за которым они будут наблюдать и заботиться о нём.

Мероприятие стало не только знакомством с важными историческими событиями, но и дало детям практический опыт участия в значимой общественной инициативе. Участники и организаторы сошлись во мнении: сохранять память о Победе — важно, но не менее важно передавать эти знания следующим поколениям. И речь идёт не только о наших детях — не менее ценно, что эти страницы истории открываются и для наших индийских друзей, для подрастающего поколения, которое растёт в двух великих странах, связанных многолетней дружбой.

Встреча прошла в тёплой и дружеской атмосфере, оставив у всех участников яркие впечатления и чувство сопричастности к сохранению исторической памяти.

Отдельно хотелось бы выразить искреннюю благодарность администрации школы и нашим партнёрам за поддержку и плодотворное сотрудничество. Именно такая совместная работа способствует укреплению дружбы и взаимопонимания между Индией и Россией.

On May 4, an event dedicated to the “Saint George Ribbon” campaign took place on the campus of Santa Maria School. Guests from the Russian House and members of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARS) conducted the event and also planted trees as part of the “Garden of Memory” project.

The event was organized for students of grades 3–5. The children attended an engaging historical talk and lecture, where they learned about the origin and significance of the Saint George Ribbon, as well as about the “Garden of Memory” initiative, under which one tree is planted in memory of each fallen soldier.

A total of 10 trees were planted. The students took part in the activity with great interest and enthusiasm, showing initiative and genuine involvement. Each of them took personal responsibility for caring for the planted trees — these have now become their own living memorials, which they will observe and nurture.

The event not only introduced important historical topics but also gave the children practical experience in participating in a meaningful social initiative. Both participants and organizers agreed that preserving the memory of Victory is important, but equally important is passing this knowledge on to future generations. This applies not only to our own children — it is especially valuable.

On April 25, the Russian Embassy in #India hosted the inaugural session of the 19th Regional Conference of Russian Compatriots from the Asia-Pacific region,

held under the auspices of the Russian Government Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad. In his welcoming remarks, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov underscored the contribution of the Russian diaspora to the promotion of the Russian language, cultural and family values, preservation of historical memory and truth about the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), as well as the expansion of educational exchanges.

💬 The opening ceremony was also addressed by Gennady Ovechko, Executive Secretary of the Government Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad and Director of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Elena Shlineva, Head of the Directorate for Relations with Compatriots and Historical and Memorial Work of the Rossotrudnichestvo, Mikhail Drozdov, Chairman of the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad.

The message to the forum by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin was delivered as well.

The event was attended by heads of coordinating councils of Russian compatriots from 12 countries of the region, who are engaged in public activities. The forum will continue its work on April 26.

What does happiness look like?
Ask a child, and they'll show you - literally.

At the World Public Summit held in Delhi on 23th–25th March, we asked that same question to adult delegates from across the world. The answers were thoughtful. Considered. Sometimes philosophical.

Then we asked the kids.

Under the guidance of Ms. Elena Barman, President of IARC (Indian Association of Russian Compatriots), the art exhibition "The World Paints Happiness" opened on 26th March at Vidya Bal Bhavan School, Ghaziabad, and the children answered not with words, but with colour.

Kids from different countries painted what happiness means to them. Every canvas was different. Every one of them was honest in a way only children can be.
The exhibition also featured a workshop led by a talented young artist and member of the youth club "Дружба" ("Dosti") of the Russian House, Mr. Nishant Kumar Meera, who brought energy, warmth, and a paintbrush to a room full of curious kids. The children loved every minute of it, and their creations earned a proud place on the exhibition walls alongside the rest.
Two events. Two generations. One question.
And somehow, the children said it best.
"The World Paints Happiness" — because some things don't need translation.

A Visit Beyond the Ordinary - Where Space Met India! 🇷🇺

We are truly honoured to share that through the remarkable efforts of the Russian House in New Delhi and the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC), we had the distinguished privilege of hosting renowned cosmonaut Mr. Oleg Skripochka in India!

Mr. Skripochka's visit was nothing short of inspiring. He graced Sancta Maria International School in Faridabad, where he conducted a captivating and informative session with the students — sparking curiosity, wonder, and perhaps a few future astronauts in the making!

The energy and excitement in that room was truly unforgettable.

The visit continued with an exploration of the heart of our capital, Delhi — culminating in a spectacular photoshoot at the iconic India Gate. A man who has orbited the Earth, now standing at one of India's most beloved monuments — what a moment to cherish!

A very special acknowledgement goes to the IARC team for making this extraordinary visit a reality. The credit belongs to the visionary founder and president, Ms. Elena Barman, and education coordinator, Ms. Ekaterina Tirath. Their passion for cultural exchange and education continues to build beautiful bridges between Russia and India.

It was a great honor to take part in a meaningful meeting held at Inderprastha Engineering College, bringing together members of the Russian compatriot community in India alongside an esteemed delegation from Russia.

The delegation represented the leadership of the World Peoples Assembly — the organizers of the World Public Summit. India, a significant platform promoting global dialogue and cooperation.

The discussion focused on strengthening humanitarian ties, promoting Russian language and culture, and expanding educational collaboration between Russia and India. Special attention was given to youth engagement, academic exchange opportunities, and the development of joint cultural initiatives that foster deeper mutual understanding. The meeting was thoughtfully arranged by IARC, under the leadership of Elena Barman (President), Zhanna Semenova (Youth Coordinator), and Ekaterina Tirath (Education Coordinator), whose efforts created a productive and inspiring environment for dialogue. On 6 March, the Grand Closing Ceremony of the program organized by the BRICS+ Schools Association took place at Sancta Maria International School.

The event marked the successful conclusion of a vibrant program that brought together educators, students, and representatives from partner institutions, strengthening educational and cultural ties.

During the ceremony, participants exchanged words of gratitude and commemorative gifts, celebrating the collaboration and friendships formed throughout the program. The audience also enjoyed wonderful student performances featuring traditional Russian and Indian dances, highlighting the beauty and diversity of both cultures. A memorable moment of the event was the presence of representative from the Russian House in New Delhi and the President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, Ms. Elena Barman. Shaping Future Global Citizens: GD Goenka Collaborates with Russia 🇮🇳🇷🇺

On 26th February 2026, GD Goenka School, Ghaziabad, took a significant step towards fostering global understanding by hosting a Russian delegation. A team of 13 members, led by Ms. Elena Barman, President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC) at the Russian House in New Delhi, met with our school’s Principal, Ms. Yogita Kapil; Director, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Goel; Associate Director, Mr. Avi Goel; and Headmistress, Dr. Pooja Chadha, to explore collaboration opportunities with Russian schools.

The Russian delegation was represented by the founders of the BRICS+ Schools Association, Ms. Svetlana Usenko and Mr. Aleksandr Usenko. They brought with them representatives from School No. 53, Rostov-on-Don, and School No. 548, Saint Petersburg, further strengthening institutional ties between our countries.

Along with Ms. Barman, the delegation also included Ekaterina Tirath, Education Coordinator of IARC, who actively supported the dialogue and coordination of future educational initiatives. С приветственным словом выступила руководитель Представительства Россотрудничества в Индии Елена Ремизова, отметив важность международного гуманитарного взаимодействия и обмена профессиональным опытом.

Российские волонтеры, в состав которой вошли опытные хирурги-онкологи, анестезиологи и ортопеды, рассказали о работе в индийских приютах. Специалисты отмечали, что старались оказать помощь каждому бездомному животному, вне зависимости от сложности диагноза. Для многих волонтёров это уже вторая поездка в Индию, и они подчёркивают: сотрудничество с местными коллегами за год стало заметно продуктивнее. Мастер-классы и обучающие практики, проведённые российскими врачами, помогли индийским ветеринарам уверенно применять современные методы оказания первой помощи. В ходе работы в приютах специалисты осуществляли сбор анамнеза жизни и заболеваний животных, определяли дальнейшую тактику лечения и разрабатывали индивидуальные планы медицинского сопровождения. Особое внимание уделялось осмотру крупного рогатого скота — коров, быков, буйволов, а также мелких домашних животных, включая собак и кошек. Наиболее распространёнными патологиями, выявленными волонтёрами, стали нарушения работы желудочно-кишечного тракта, истощение, раневые повреждения, последствия ударов электрическим током, травмы после дорожно-транспортных происшествий, ожоги и онкологические заболевания. Работа российских ветеринарных специалистов велась не только в приютах Дели, но и в штате Керала, в городе Варкала, где также были проведены консультативные и практические мероприятия, направленные на совершенствование навыков местных ветеринаров. Special attention was paid to examining large livestock — cows, bulls, buffaloes — as well as small domestic animals, including dogs and cats. The most common pathologies identified by the volunteers included gastrointestinal disorders, emaciation, wound injuries, consequences of electric shocks, road traffic accident trauma, burns, and oncological diseases. The work of the Russian veterinary specialists was carried out not only in Delhi shelters but also in the state of Kerala, in the city of Varkala, where consultations and practical activities were also conducted to improve the skills of local veterinarians. Russian volunteers have returned to India to continue their assistance to animals and to share experiences and best practices with Indian medical professionals and volunteers. Their work is part of the international "Mission Dobro" program, implemented by the Rossotrudnichestvo office in India.

The project aims to provide free veterinary care and sterilization to stray animals in Delhi, thereby improving their quality of life. One of the key objectives of the mission is to exchange experience with local specialists. Russian veterinary volunteers conduct training workshops for their Indian colleagues, demonstrating modern treatment methods and more advanced veterinary procedures.

Assistance is provided to both small and large animals: volunteers provide treatment, care, disease prevention, and necessary protection. Российские волонтёры вновь прибыли в Индию, чтобы продолжить оказывать помощь животным, а также обмениваться опытом и лучшими практиками с индийскими медиками и добровольцами. Их работа проходит в рамках международной программы «Миссия Добро», реализуемой представительством Россотрудничества в Индии. Проект направлен на оказание бесплатной ветеринарной помощи и проведение стерилизации бездомных животных в Дели, что способствует улучшению качества их жизни.

Одной из ключевых задач миссии является обмен опытом с местными специалистами. Российские ветеринарные волонтёры проводят обучающие практики для индийских коллег, демонстрируя современные методы лечения и более продвинутые ветеринарные процедуры.

Помощь оказывается как мелким, так и крупным животным: волонтёры обеспечивают лечение, уход, профилактику заболеваний и необходимую защиту. Таким образом, программа охватывает широкий спектр потребностей животных, находящихся в сложных условиях.

XIII All-India Conference of Russian Compatriots was held at the Russian House in New Delhi. It was organized by the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC), the Russian Embassy in India, and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India.

Russian Ambassador to India Mr. Denis Evgenievich Alipov welcomed the participants. A message was read from Mr. Gennady Alekseyevich Ovechko, Executive Secretary of the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad and Director of the Department for Work with Compatriots at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In her welcoming speech, Dr. Elena Remizova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office, thanked the compatriots for their fruitful collaboration on various projects in the areas of Russian language teaching, supporting women's business initiatives, protecting the rights of compatriots, and promoting Russian music, education, and literature. Dr. Remizova expressed confidence that next year the Representative Office will receive more interesting inquiries from Russian compatriots and will jointly implement even more significant projects.

The conference was attended by activists and representatives of Russian compatriots from various Indian cities, including Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kozhikode, as well as the state of Goa.

The conference concluded with the adoption of the Resolution of the XIII All-India Conference of Russian Compatriots, which confirmed the unification of compatriots based on the ideas of the Russian World in India.

Собравшихся поприветствовал Посол России в Индии Денис Евгеньевич Алипов. Было зачитано обращение ответственного секретаря Правительственной комиссии по делам соотечественников за рубежом, директора Департамента по работе с соотечественниками МИД России Геннадия Алексеевича Овечко. В приветственной речи руководитель Представительства Россотрудничества Елена Ремизова поблагодарила соотечественников за плодотворную совместную работу по реализации различных проектов в сфере преподавания русского языка, поддержки женских бизнес-инициатив, защиты прав соотечественников, популяризации российской музыки, образования и литературы. Ремизова выразила уверенность, что в следующем году Представительство получит больше интересных обращений от российских соотечественников и совместно реализует еще больше значимых проектов.

В конференции приняли участие активисты и представители российских соотечественников из разных городов Индии, включая Калькутту, Мумбаи, Бангалор, Ченнаи, Хайдарабад, Пуну и Кожикоде, а также штата Гоа. Завершилась конференция принятием Резолюции XIII Всеиндийской конференции российских соотечественников, которая подтвердила объединение соотечественников на основе идей Русского мира в Индии.
